So you are no doubt aware that this car is a tarted up Honda Accord wagon, these rear cover things are $450+ at the Acura dealers here in the states, its insane. If they sold them for $200 I bet lots of people would actually buy them. So I searched UK and Oz ebay with a part number one dealer gave me. And sure enough I found one in the UK for about half of what they sell for here, shipping included. If you look on Acura forums there are people trying to buy them off others and complaining about the cost. I posted my idea, and it worked, so I hope they read it. I just feel better with the car complete, it was annoying me!

I have one of those for my Volvo, but the rear seats are down about 90% of the time so the cargo cover lives in my closet.

Wait so does the US model not come with these standard? Or yours got lost at some point/original owner cheaped out on it?

Im not sure if they came with one, I bet they asked a few hundred for it and people passed. Mine has all the options with the tech package so Im not sure if they lost it or passed on it.

The cargo cover for my outback has been leaning up against a wall in my garage since December 2012.

Yeah just strange to think that a car from a premium brand like that and clearly not a base model (if such a thing exists even?) didnt come with a cargo cover as standard.

What does anybody use their cargo cover for?

Well in a place like SF you can cover stuff in there like a trunk. It retracts so you dont have to take it out completely. When I used to go to work I had to park in garages or city streets.

So i ts a security sort of thing? I get that, out of site so no one has reason to break in.
Im aware theyre removable, retractable, and sometimes unobtanium. Work at car dealership, never see people use them.

Crackies in SF will break a window just to check out something they see, I saw one take a shop vac apart. It blocks off a big part of the back, it might make AC and heat more efficient as well. One cool thing is if the back is covered there are light above and below that cover so you can see either place at night.
